What can you expect?

Let’s be clear right away: If you always need the latest design standard from IKEA, a spacious loft flat, a widescreen TV and a swimming pool for your well-being, then you are – sorry – at the wrong address. If, on the other hand, you like authentic rural Crete, then you will like it very much! The 3 well-maintained studio flats offer an above-average standard, despite their rather compact size (22 m2 inside + 8 m2 balcony). The flat furnishings can be characterised as 80s retro-chic, complemented with new and useful elements.

Quality manangement: The local co-host (Irini) is responsible for the well-being of the guests and takes care of all their needs. The owner (Urs) is testing himself each apartment once per year to find out, what can be improved. These measures are implemented immediately. Constructive direct feedback from guests is appreciated and suggestions for improvement are considered in due time.
The standard of equipment is above the local average and of top quality, e.g. solid wood furniture, local handy-crafted textiles, high quality kitchen equipment.
Best comfort in the beds, due to spring mattresses with camel-hair toppers and, for the colder season, merino-wool duvets.
Well-balanced indoor climate thanks to new insulation of roof and walls.
Best available COSMOTE WiFi for this area (please don’t foreget we are on an island without fibre optic infrastructure – however, the internet speed allows streaming without problems).

Why an Eco-House?

There has been a lot of renovation since 2021, with focus on sustainability (e.g. insulation). Well-preserved components were not simply demolished, but reused and improved.
Efficient solar water heating.
Air-to-air heat pumps for heating and cooling. Wood stove for cosy hours in cold weather.
We produce our own solar electricity and we are subscribed to green electricity (wind for the night power) from local supplier DEH.
Extensive managed garden with local fruit-trees, shrubs and nice flowers.
No large water and chemicals consumers (e.g. swimming pool, Jaccuzzi – it would be so silly, the fantastic sandy beach is just nearby!)
And last but not least: The owner lives as environmentally friendly as possible without “missionising” others.

The most important facts about the offer at a glance

3 comfortably furnished studio-apartments can be rented all year round.
You may also rent the whole house (3 apartments = 6 – 8 beds) or a double apartment – ask for a special offer!
From about 35 € per night and apartment, depending on the season and the length of your stay. The minimum rental period is 3 nights. –> see pricelist.
Ideal for individual travellers, couples or small groups of up to 7 people. Also very suitable for families with children (however, no special baby-beds available).
Stress-free holidays, also possible without a car, because: Sandy beach, taverns, shops, weekly market, medical care, bus stop, excursion boat etc. are within 5-10 minutes walking distance. Even one of the most exciting hikes starts directly from our house. Or simply chill out on the balcony and in the shadow of the Carob tree.
When Urs is around (usually in spring and autumn), he will be happy to go hiking and biking with you to the most special places he knows. Best of all, this service is FREE!
